A pizza order at a suburban front door turned into an unexpected encounter between a homeowner, a delivery driver, and an uninvited guest from the woods, according to a clip posted by TikTok account Trey. The video is filmed from just inside the doorway as the driver walks up with a stack of boxes, and by the time the exchange wraps up, as a bear wanders into view in the background.
The handoff itself plays out like any other doorstep delivery. “Will you take this?” the driver asks, and the person filming answers, “Okay, got it.” A round of thank-yous follows. “Thank you.” “All set.” “Thank you.”
It’s only as the exchange wraps up that a voice off camera, apparently a man standing near the door, says, “Watch out,” followed by a woman saying, “Just be cool,” as a bear stands in the background watching the delivery.
The bear seems more interested in the pizza than the delivery driver
After they receive the pizza, the woman says, “Oh, he doesn’t. He doesn’t want the pizza guy,” and the man responds, “No, he wants the pizza.” Based on what’s visible in the video, the people in the video appear to believe the bear is more interested in the food than in the people around it. The encounter is similar to other recent clips of bystanders staying remarkably calm around full-grown bears.
The person filming can be heard thinking about what to do, saying, “I can set my car alarm off the phone,” as she searches for a way to scare the bear off. As the delivery driver starts heading away from the house, the bear suddenly runs off and ducks behind a nearby tree. It only comes back out into the yard after the driver gets into his car, prompting the people filming to say, “There he goes,” before calling out, “Hi, baby.”
The account hasn’t shared where or when the delivery took place, and there’s no follow up on what happened after the video ended. Bears wandering through populated neighborhoods have become a familiar sight in viral clips, though this encounter started with what appeared to be nothing more than an ordinary pizza delivery.
Comments beneath the clip have mostly picked up on the same joke, with several joking that the bear’s priorities seemed pretty clear, and others giving the delivery driver credit for finishing the drop-off without any visible hesitation once the boxes changed hands.
