Cult Of Chucky’s Unrated Cut Can NOT Be Found On Netflix

Even though it won’t be seeing a theatrical release, a strong argument could be made for Cult of Chucky being one of the most anticipated horror movies to drop in 2017. Not only will it include returning favorites such as Jennifer Tilly and Alex Vincent, but it will also carry over the darker tone that director Don Mancini established in the previous film, Curse of Chucky.

Having said that, you’re probably well aware that today not only marks the release of Cult of Chucky on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital HD and On Demand, but also its inclusion in Netflix’s lineup. Yes, that one took us by as much surprise as any of you, but it’s just a matter of fact that many people have opted to stream movies in today’s world as opposed to venturing out to video stores, and even see it as an alternative to cable and satellite TV.

But before you sit down to “Netflix and chill” with your significant other, please be forewarned that the version of the film found on the popular streaming service is the R-rated cut, not the unrated one that many cinephiles will likely favor. Sure, you may not feel too left out knowing that what you’ll be seeing is only a minute shorter than its unrated counterpart, as that may mostly pertain to extra gore, but it’s important to note that the R-rated cut does not contain a post-credits scene. And knowing how Mancini himself has touted that this entry into the franchise opens up a “world of infinite possibilities,” you’re going to eventually want to see the unabridged cut in order to get the full story.
