Ryan Reynolds Shares New Deadpool 2 Photos And Promises Tons Of Easter Eggs

That's a wrap! With production now complete on Deadpool 2, it's time to start getting excited about the Merc with a Mouth's next adventure, especially because it'll arrive in what's shaping up to be a big year for the X-Men franchise, what with both The New Mutants and Dark Phoenix also releasing. In the case of Wade Wilson, though, all signs point to the sequel becoming another smashing success and being the good guy he is, Ryan Reynolds has now given us a great look behind the scenes.

That’s a wrap! With production now complete on Deadpool 2, it’s time to start getting excited about the Merc with a Mouth’s next adventure, especially because it’ll arrive in what’s shaping up to be a big year for the X-Men franchise, what with both The New Mutants and Dark Phoenix also releasing. In the case of Wade Wilson, though, all signs point to the sequel becoming another smashing success and being the good guy he is, Ryan Reynolds has now given us a great look behind the scenes.

Taking to social media, the actor released a handful of photos that don’t necessarily tell us anything about the plot, but still provide a nice peek at the highly anticipated film. Most notable are the ones that depict the bottom of Deadpool’s katanas, with the names Bea and Arthur engraved in gold.

Of course, fans of the character will know that this a reference to Bea Arthur, who played Dorothy Zbornak in the 1980s sitcom The Golden Girls. Why’s that significant? Well, because the Merc’s got a bit of an unhealthy obsession with both the show and the actress.

It’s a neat little easter egg, and only the first of many. Within his Instagram post, Reynolds promised that Deadpool 2 is “riddled with them in almost every scene.” Unfortunately, he wouldn’t reveal any others, but fans would be wise to keep their eyes peeled when they head into theatres next year.

Not only that, but from a giant inflatable panda to an overturned military truck, it’s clear that Deadpool 2 won’t skimp on blockbuster action sequences, either – hardly surprising, given it’s coming from the director that brought us John Wick and this summer’s Cold War thriller, Atomic Blonde.

All things considered, it would seem that there’s a lot to look forward to from the upcoming sequel, which will be with us on June 1st, 2018. Further afield, 20th Century Fox has already begun formulating plans for its fabled X-Force movie, which Drew Goddard will write and direct. Both Deadpool and Cable – Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin, respectively – are expected to reprise their X-Men characters for the ensemble piece, along with Zazie Beetz as the elusive Domino.
