Expect Supergirl’s Situation With Mon-El And Saturn Girl To Take A New Turn Very Soon

Odds are that you've noticed Supergirl has stepped it up when it comes to the drama this season, playing up Kara and Alex's sisterly relationship, in addition to the former's complicated situation with Mon-El that we'll get into shortly. To be honest, it's probably to help alleviate the budget a bit because season 2 did get quite ambitious with all of its sci-fi action.

So, as we were saying, the Girl of Steel has been having somewhat of a rough time lately and it’s not entirely Reign’s fault. If you’ve been keeping up, then you’re well aware of how she’s had to deal with her former lover in Mon-El now being married to Imra Ardeen AKA Saturn Girl. Long story short, Mon-El’s trip to the 31st century may have lasted seven months for Kara, but in the case of the charismatic Daxamite, he was gone for seven years. Yes, time travel can be a funny thing.

But what would any kind of CW drama be without the possibility of a love triangle existing?

Speaking of which, actress Amy Jackson, Saturn Girl herself, recently told Entertainment Weekly that a few surprises may be on the way:

“In the next episodes, more will unravel. Obviously, I can’t reveal too much, but there is a twist and the turn in the plot for sure.”

What’s especially funny about this situation is that Jackson was a fan of the show before being cast and even “shipped” the two characters that she’s currently mixed up with! Here’s what she had to say to ComicBook.com concerning that:

“Can I be honest? I was a fan of the show before and I was also a Karamel [shipper] before I even signed the show. So I am actually a fan of them also, but I think because I did my homework about the character itself, I knew I was getting into a sticky situation because it’s already formed a relationship beforehand with Mon-El and Kara, but I know that this character is going to be very appreciated and loved because she is a strong character in herself.”

If indeed there is to be a shift, let us hope we get to see it before the show goes on yet another extended hiatus. Really, we the fans want something to be able to savor in the meantime.

Supergirl airs on Monday nights on The CW.
