Most of Venom is still being kept tightly under wraps at the moment, but some details have begun to trickle out, such as character names, for example. In fact, if a new report is to be believed, two supporting roles in the upcoming Spider-Man spinoff may have been confirmed.

MCU Exchange alleges that information they’ve got hold of reveals the identities of the roles played by Scott Haze and Jenny Slate. It’d previously been theorized that Haze could be portraying Cletus Kasady AKA Carnage, Venom’s nemesis, in the film. However, this report claims the actor is playing Roland Treece, a businessman and member of the Board of Directors of the Life Foundation, the scientific organization that will play a big part in Venom.

As for Slate’s involvement, MCU Exchange claims that the actress’ role is Dora Skirth, a scientist who also works at the Life Foundation. Some fans had thought that Slate could be playing Dr. Ashley Kafka, the founder of the Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane – essentially, Spider-Man’s version of Arkham Asylum. That doesn’t seem to be the case, though it’s still possible she’ll fill a similar role to Kafka in the movie.

Thanks to this new report, we now know who most of the main supporting cast are playing. Previously, Michelle Williams confirmed that she was bringing to life Anne Weying, Eddie Brock’s ex-wife who becomes She-Venom in the comics, while after much speculation, Riz Ahmed’s role was confirmed to be Carlton Drake, the boss of the Life Foundation.

As these characters make clear, Venom will heavily revolve around that aforementioned organization, which also confirms that the movie will be based on the Lethal Protector storyline from the comics. The arc features a number of other symbiotes as well, but as yet we haven’t got any confirmation that these characters will make it into the film.

Hopefully we’ll begin to learn more though as Venom slithers closer to its October 5th release.
