The Walking Dead Creator Reveals Who He’d Like To Bring Back, And It’s Not Glenn

The Walking Dead's founding father has revealed who he'd like to bring back from the grave, and it's definitely not Glenn.

The Walking Dead‘s midseason premiere is now so close we can almost smell the rotten flesh wafting up from AMC’s horde of flesh-munching walkers.

Titled “Honor,” we know it’ll signal the untimely death of young Carl Grimes, who, much to the horror of his father Rick, suffered a fatal walker bite just prior to the show’s winter hiatus. Such a tragic twist of fate has laid the foundations for a truly gut-wrenching premiere, as viewers prepare to bid farewell to a character who has been a cornerstone of The Walking Dead ever since AMC’s adaptation made its humble debut back in 2010.

But what about those other characters who have fallen along the way? Indeed, if series creator Robert Kirkman was able to resurrect a fallen ally (or villain!), who would he choose? That question was posed to The Walking Dead‘s founding father this past weekend, where he pointed to the fan-favorite Tyreese (Chad Coleman), while also giving an honorable mention to T-Dog.

No, not Glenn. T-Dog would be good. I love Steven Yeun as much as the next guy, but I mean, enough, come on,” he explained, laughing.

Kirkman continued by drawing attention to Tyreese’s defining qualities, and how his incompetence ultimately allowed him to resonate with the show’s impassioned community:

No, I mean, I always loved Tyreese. I miss the character a lot in the comics, and it was great getting to write him again for the show, and you know, I thought he was a cool guy. I liked how gentle he was and how ill-equipped for the world he was and what a struggle it was for him to bash people’s heads in with that hammer. Yeah, either him, I don’t know, or Carl [laughs].

AMC’s Walking Dead saga continues on Sunday, February 25th, and when it does, it’ll have Michonne cutting down walkers left, right and center.
