Take A Closer Look At Bucky’s New Avengers: Infinity War Arm

Since his MCU debut in Captain America: The First Avenger, Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes has grown into a bona fide fan-favorite, particularly after his villainous turn in the really rather excellent Winter Soldier. And while Marvel comic book readers believe it's only a matter of time before Barnes assumes the Captain America title, we still have no confirmation on if that'll indeed happen. What we can tell you, though, is that the character will be receiving an upgraded arm for his next big screen appearance, which will come in Avengers: Infinity War.

And while Marvel comic book readers believe it’s only a matter of time before Barnes assumes the Captain America title, we still have no confirmation on if that’ll indeed happen. As you’ll surely remember, Captain America: Civil War saw Iron Man destroy Bucky’s cyborg arm. We knew he wouldn’t be running around IW missing a limb though and sure enough, the film’s first trailer featured him with both arms in tact. There was also that Super Bowl spot, too, which showed us that gone is the silver plating and instead, we’ve got an arm that appears to be made of Vibranium.

After all, we know Bucky’s been housed up in Wakanda, with T’Challa’s sister, Shuri, helping him get back on his feet. She’s no doubt played a part in giving him his new limb, too, so we can only imagine it’s a significant upgrade over what he had before, making him a real force to be reckoned with. And while it’ll still be a few months before we get to see the new prosthetic in action, a new Infinity War Legends figure has given us yet another look at it.

Down in the gallery below, you’ll see figures for characters like Thor, Groot, Rocket, Vision and more. It’s really Bucky’s who’s of particular interest here, though, as the rest of the heroes all appear as they usually do – except the God of Thunder, that is.

But circling back to the former Winter Soldier, and not only is he wielding what seems to be a badass Wakandan rifle, but again, we also get to see his upgraded arm, with the gold and silver color scheme fully on display. The former color is threaded through the joints, too, leading us to believe it could be the Vibranium powering the limb. Pretty cool, right?

Of course, Bucky won’t be the only one with some new tech/weaponry. From Thor’s hammer/axe hybrid Stormbreaker to Spidey’s Iron Spider suit and, of course, Tony’s Model-Prime armor, most of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be getting an upgrade this year. That’s a good thing, too, as they’ll surely need it when Thanos comes knocking.

Will they be able to bring down the Mad Titan though and save planet Earth? All will be revealed on April 27th, when Avengers: Infinity War crashes into theaters.
