The Writers Behind Avengers: Infinity War Warn Fans Of The Big Deaths To Come

Between them, Joe and Anthony Russo tend to get all the credit for Avengers: Infinity War (and its 2019 sequel!), but after hashing out a script for what is undoubtedly Marvel’s biggest and most complex movie thus far, Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus deserve a little more recognition.

The creative duo, who also worked alongside the Russo Brothers for The Winter Soldier and 2016’s Civil War, are clearly an important cog in the MCU machine, and it’s a credit to McFeely and Markus’ combined talent that Infinity War has all the makings of a coherent and indeed compelling blockbuster.

After all, the pair’s collective résumé is living proof that, when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus are on something of a roll, which will surely serve them in good stead as we approach Avengers: Infinity War. Speaking of which, while chatting to EW, McFeely echoed Robert Downey Jr.’s comments to warn fans that, yes, we will be parting ways with one or three major characters late next month.

“Heads will roll,” ladies and gentlemen, and when Stephen McFeely was asked about the film’s inevitable body count, the screenwriter remained mum, instead telling fans that, “it’s safe to say we will say farewell to people.”

But the question remains: which Marvel hero(es) will be killed off on April 27th? Word is Joe and Anthony Russo were informed about the expendable characters long before Avengers: Infinity War began filming, so we’re inclined to believe that Phase One characters like War Machine, Captain America, and perhaps even Iron Man are all in the firing line.
