Constantine on Legends of Tomorrow

Constantine Confirmed As Series Regular For Legends Of Tomorrow Season 4

While his solo series may have been unfortunately cancelled by NBC a few years back, it's been exciting to see Matt Ryan reprise his role of John Constantine, be it on various other TV shows or in animated movies. Actually, we've been quite spoiled in recent memory, as he's appeared on Legends of Tomorrow, with two more guest shots on the way: One will arrive tonight, and the other will come during the season 3 finale.

So, as awesome as seeing the character semi-frequently has been, it’s all been contingent on Ryan’s availability. Sure, his repeated visits to the Waverider make sense from a narrative standpoint because the team has been dealing with supernatural threats this season, but that doesn’t change the fact that Ryan’s had a busy schedule in recent years.

Well, it looks like he’s been able to free up some time because we’ll be seeing Constantine on a regular basis in season 4! That’s right, Ryan is set to join the principal cast, so we’re prepared for him to help take the series to new heights – and that’s saying something because season 3 has easily been the show’s best to date, at least in my view.

And while official word regarding Legends of Tomorrow‘s renewal has yet to officially come down, it seems to be in the bag at this point. I mean, why else would news like this be getting out? Plus, the series has proven to be one of the network’s highest rated for this season, so that’s likely done wonders for its chances of getting picked up.

Unfortunately, none can be too sure of the fate of its Arrowverse brethren, but we’d like to think that there’ll be renewals across the board, even if the network is going pilot crazy at the moment. Still, it’s important to note that The CW will be adding Sunday nights to its prime time schedule this fall, so there’s plenty of room for our superheroes to thrive.

Legends of Tomorrow airs on Monday nights on The CW.
