Don Cheadle as War Machine in Iron Man 3

Avengers: Infinity War Poster Offers High-Res Look At War Machine’s New Armor

Among many others, Don Cheadle's War Machine is also due for an upgrade in Avengers: Infinity War, and here's a high-res look at his new suit.

Iron Spider, the Model-Prime armor, and Stormbreaker – three fantastical weapons/suits of armor that are confirmed for Avengers: Infinity War. But it looks like Rhodey will be gaining access to some upgrades of his own as well when the lights go down late next month.

Colonel James Rupert Rhodes originally assumed the War Machine mantle for Iron Man 2, and later reprised that role for both Iron Man 3 and the super-sized Captain America: Civil War, when a close brush with death almost left Rhodey in a wheelchair…permanently.

Thankfully, he seems to have made a full recovery, while Stark Industries has evidently carried out some modifications on his black-and-white armor, as the new poster for Infinity War shows us. War Machine will be heftier this time around, it seems, with his new suit complementing the striking, hot-rod-red of Tony Stark’s Model-Prime quite nicely.

Check it out down in the gallery below, along with some recently released pics from the film:

Pretty neat, right? As we mentioned above, Rhodey is far from the only Avenger due for an upgrade in Infinity War. In fact, most of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be receiving either new costumes or weapons in time for the event movie, and they’ll certainly need them given the threat that’s looming on the horizon.

We are, of course, referring to Josh Brolin’s Mad Titan. Yes, Thanos is finally about to “do it himself,” on his way to Earth to collect those all-powerful Infinity Stones, which can only spell trouble for Iron Man and co. Not everyone will make it out alive, either, and with Cheadle’s War Machine one of the characters heavily rumored to be on the chopping block, Avengers: Infinity War may be our last chance to spend some time with Colonel James Rupert Rhodes.
