New Infinity War Concept Art Offers Another Look At The Souped-Up War Machine

The beefed-up War Machine features in this brand new piece of concept art for Avengers: Infinity War, which is due to hit theaters the world over on April 27th.

Iron Spider, the Model-Prime armor, and Stormbreaker – three fantastical weapons/suits of armor that are nigh on confirmed for Avengers: Infinity War. But it looks like Rhodey will be gaining access to some upgrades of his own as well when the lights go down late next month.

Colonel James Rupert Rhodes originally assumed the War Machine mantle for Iron Man 2, and later reprised that role for both Iron Man 3 and the super-sized Captain America: Civil War, when a close brush with death almost left Rhodey in a wheelchair…permanently.

Thankfully, he seems to have made a full recovery, while Stark Industries has evidently carried out some modifications on his black-and-white armor, as the latest piece of Infinity War concept art attests. First spotted by Reddit, the following artwork doesn’t appear to be official, but it’s still an exciting glimpse at War Machine and his shoulder-mounted WMD. And the remainder of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, of course.

Check it out in the gallery down below, along with those awesome character posters that surfaced yesterday.

You’ll also notice that this newly-unveiled concept art draws attention to the six Infinity Stones: Time, Mind, Power, Space, Reality and the elusive Soul Stone, which may well be bound to Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit, if the latest online rumors are to be believed.

Regardless of its current whereabouts, the sixth and final Infinity Stone is said to be the most dangerous of them all, which only leaves us feeling all the more apprehensive that it’ll fall into the hands of Thanos. Then again, there’s a good possibility that Avengers: Infinity War will end at a point in time when Marvel’s Mad Titan only controls two or three of the cosmic ingots, thereby setting the stage quite nicely for the so-far untitled Avengers 4.
