Vision’s In Trouble In This New Avengers: Infinity War TV Spot

Marvel's dropped another new Avengers: Infinity War TV spot today, and this one seemingly teases the end of Vision (Paul Bettany).

Though it may err on the side of hyperbole, there’s never been a film quite like Joe and Anthony Russo’s Avengers: Infinity War.

Its enormous cast (22 Marvel heroes!) and epic story ought to be exclusive to the world of comic books, where big-name crossovers are commonplace. Leave it to Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios, then, to rewrite the rulebook and put together one of the most audacious and indeed successful cinematic universes in the history of cinematic universes.

Whereas other studios have found it difficult to maintain a cohesive vision in the face of cute references and post-credits cameos, Marvel’s decision to build its MCU from the ground up has resulted in a crossover that is, to be honest, completely unprecedented in its scale and mind-numbing scope.

And so now, with roughly four weeks to go until D-day, the House of Ideas has released yet another new TV spot. From what we can tell, it’s just an HD version of the one that dropped last weekend during the Halo World Championship, but it’s still pretty exciting. Taking on an ominous tone, it once again teases Thanos’ plan to wipe out half the universe, with a few of the Avengers – particularly Vision and Doctor Strange – looking to be in a bit of trouble as they attempt to stop the Mad Titan before it’s too late.

Yes, after casting a long, purple shadow over the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the past several years, Josh Brolin’s big bad is finally about to take matters into his own hands as he sets out to collect all six Infinity Stones – namely Time, Reality, Power, Mind, Space and the elusive Soul Stone, whereabouts unknown.

It’s definitely not in Wakanda, that we know, after Black Panther director Ryan Coogler confirmed as much back in February. Besides, the fictional African nation will be too busy defending Vision (read: the Mind Stone) from invading forces, and if you’ve seen either of Infinity War‘s trailers, you’ll know that things are about to get hairy – and fast.

Building on 10 years and 18 movies’ worth of backstory, Avengers: Infinity War promises to deliver an experience like no other on April 27th – or April 8th, if you happen to be among the lucky few invited to Marvel’s fan screening in the United Kingdom.
