The CW’s crop of Arrowverse shows – Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow – are all gearing up for their finales, with April to June bringing about the end of the beloved DC TV series. And though it’s widely expected that each one will return in the fall, that’s not guaranteed just yet. The network still hasn’t handed out renewals and some folks are starting to wonder if there’s a reason to worry.
Well, according to Deadline at least, there isn’t. The outlet recently weighed in on the chances of Oliver Queen, Barry Allen and the rest of the gang sticking around for more after their current runs are complete, and noted that The CW “will likely renew all returning series on its fall schedule.” Furthermore, they also say that Black Lightning – which is not part of the Arrowverse but also kinda is – “looks like a sure bet for renewal.”
We should make clear that this doesn’t mean it’s a 100% guarantee that each show will return, but Deadline’s usually pretty accurate in their assessments with this type of stuff. Besides, why wouldn’t The CW renew their various Arrowverse programs?
They do well for the network in terms of ratings and each one has a pretty sizeable fanbase of devoted and loyal viewers. Not to mention that there are still a lot of exciting developments on the horizon – like Matt Ryan joining Legends as a regular – and much story left to tell. In other words, at this point, we’d be pretty shocked if Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and/or Legends of Tomorrow got the axe.
We’ll be sure to let you know once The CW makes things official, but in the meantime, tell us, what are you hoping to see from the Arrowverse next year? Take to the usual place and sound off!
