The Guardians of the Galaxy play host to an uninvited guest in this newly released promo for Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel’s historic crossover that is now so close we can almost feel the shimmering, cosmic power emanating from Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet.

Because after close to seven years of far-flung threats and general brooding, the Mad Titan is finally – finally! – ready to exert his dominance, beginning with a close encounter involving Loki and the God of Thunder himself, Thor. Initially teased at the tail-end of Thor: Ragnarok, it’s this spectacular event that ultimately places Chris Hemsworth’s hero on a collision course with the Guardians of the Galaxy – and, specifically, the Milano’s windshield – who reluctantly agree to bring him on board so that Mantis can work her magic.

Cue a rib-tickling scene where Star-Lord makes his voice deeper, presumably in an effort to impress the mighty God of Thunder. But that’s not all, as this latest TV spot has a lot more new footage to feast on, including Doctor Strange warning the Avengers of Thanos, M’Baku charging into action and Thor asking Peter Quill to join Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Hopefully they’ll agree, for in Avengers: Infinity War, the gang will come up against the aforementioned Thanos, a Mad Titan with only one thought in his mind: to wipe out half the universe by collecting all six Infinity Stones. And though they may take a backseat to the Avengers on April 27th, Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt recently assured fans that our favorite team of A-holes will still get their moment to shine.

After 10 years and 18 movies, the Marvel Studios logo has arguably become a hallmark of quality the likes of which we haven’t seen since the heyday of Amblin. And it’s that 10-year legacy that has allowed Avengers: Infinity War to become one of the biggest movies of 2018.
