Hawkeye Finally Appears On EW’s Avengers: Infinity War Cover

The marketing for Avengers: Infinity War has mostly been spot-on so far, with the trailers, posters and more coming together to ramp up excitement for the upcoming movie event of the year to Hulk-like levels. One thing that's been niggling at fans, though, is the lack of Hawkeye. Despite being a founding member of the Avengers, Jeremy Renner's archer has been almost entirely absent from the film's publicity.

At last, however, the cover of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly reminds us that, yes, Hawkeye is going to be part of Infinity War. No, really. Look, there he is, featured alongside the rest of the enormous cast of heroes. Unfortunately, it’s not an exclusive glimpse at the character in the movie, as the cover is made up of shots of the Avengers from previous films. But hey, at this point we’ll take what we can get.

You can see for yourself in the gallery below (which also includes last month’s EW covers):

Previously, fans’ thirst for some Hawkeye love got so desperate that they edited existing Infinity War posters to include Agent Barton – some even went the whole hog and replaced every single hero with Renner’s face. Even if the lack of Hawkeye is frustrating, the Russo brothers have promised that there’s method in the madness and his minuscule role in the film’s marketing will make sense when we finally get to see the damn thing.

From what we can gather, Barton will go on his own mission in the movie – it could even be a quest to find the coveted Soul Stone. We do know, thanks to some illuminating set photos, that he’ll at least have a different look in Infinity War, as Renner was spotted rocking a mohawk. Rumours also state that the character could be adopting his secondary vigilante alias of Ronin in either this installment or Avengers 4.

All will be revealed when Hawkeye –  and the rest of Marvel’s heroes – returns in Avengers: Infinity War, hitting cinemas on April 27th.
