Ash vs Evil Dead Season 3 2018

Season 4 Of Ash Vs. Evil Dead Would Have Gone Post-Apocalyptic

Discussing whether a TV show may get cancelled is one thing, but it does nothing to lessen the shock on the day the ax actually does come down. Granted, this is a situation we've kept our eye on for a bit now, but the moment we all dreaded finally arrived last week when Starz pulled the plug on Ash vs. Evil Dead.

Now, this is certainly nothing to be ashamed of, as a three season run is quite respectable – especially when you consider that the story started by Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead trilogy hadn’t been continued in what felt like an eternity. That said, we imagine this show was a dream come true for many of you.

But, like we said earlier, the cancellation shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, as ratings have been quickly declining this season. In fact, one week even saw a drop-off of 60,000 viewers, something the network wasn’t going to let go unnoticed. If you look at it from their point of view, they probably felt they had no choice in making the decision.

Still, it doesn’t make the pill any easier to swallow and making matters even worse now is that we’re hearing if the show had been renewed for a fourth season, the producers had a pretty awesome idea for where to take things. According to Bloody-Disgusting, Ash vs. Evil Dead would have headed to a post-apocalyptic future setting next year, which has been described as “Mad Max meets Fallout, only with…robots.”

Sounds exciting, right? It would have been a nice change of pace for the gang – especially given that this season has been a bit bland – and surely would’ve given the program a ratings boost. Alas, it just wasn’t meant to be and now, fans will be forced to wave goodbye to Ash vs. Evil Dead later this week, when the series finale airs on Sunday, April 29th.
