You’ve heard about Dawn of Justice, but what about the dawn of the X-Force?

Granted, that’s not the official title of Fox and David Leitch’s Deadpool sequel (too derivative, we imagine), but considering how Wade Wilson is about to assemble a posse of superpowered mutants, each more bizarre and quirky than the last, ‘Deadpool 2: Dawn of the X-Force’ would be a pretty apt title for what is undoubtedly the second must-see comic book movie of 2018 after Avengers: Infinity War.

Adding fuel to the fire today is a raft of high-res images for the Merc’s second solo adventure, and they’re every bit as weird and wonderful as you’d expect. Whether it’s Wade Wilson cuddling up to Blind Al or Josh Brolin owning the screen as Cable, the one-armed freedom fighter who hails from the future, this is perhaps the perfect primer for Deadpool 2, and below you’ll get the chance to go up close and personal with the raunchy sequel.

Pretty cool, no? One of the most exciting additions to the cast is Julian Dennison as a young, fire-wielding mutant who soon finds himself on Cable’s radar – presumably because he’s responsible for some future atrocity that Nathan Summers must prevent.

Yes, Infinity War isn’t the only 2018 tentpole that’s about to mess with time, and we know Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, and the up-and-coming Dennison will be flanked by Brianna Hildebrand, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Shioli Kutsana, T.J. Miller, Terry Crews, Rob Delaney and Morena Baccarin late next month.

Look for Deadpool 2 to light up theaters (and potentially pay tribute to Hugh Jackman) on May 18th. That’s just seven days before the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, so we’re intrigued to find out whether the Merc has the necessary staying power to reign over the box office for two weeks on the trot.
