Forget Danny Rand and Luke Cage (otherwise known as Marvel’s Heroes for Hire), the latest clip for season 2 of Netflix’s superhero drama sees Misty Knight and Colleen Wing take the spotlight. And all of a sudden, we want a spinoff based on Daughters of the Dragon.
This is presumably lifted from pretty early on in Luke Cage season 2, given Misty is still adjusting to life without her right arm – remember, Simone Missick’s former law enforcer lost a limb during The Defenders finale. She’s still every bit as fearless as before, mind you, so we can’t wait to see Misty once she’s equipped with the bionic arm from Marvel Comics. And Colleen Wing? Like us, Jessica Henwick’s character is just enjoying the show.
For Power Man, there’s a new threat on the streets of Harlem: Bushmaster (Mustafa Shakir), a musclebound foe and the pound-for-pound equal to Luke Cage, given his powers are strong enough to injure Mike Colter’s titular lead. And just like that, Harlem’s Hero for Hire is no longer the unbreakable man.
To make matters worse, Mariah (Alfre Woodard) and Shades (Theo Rossi) are still causing havoc, as they look to fill the void left by Cottonmouth. And best of all? We understand Iron Fist himself, Danny Rand, will pop up for an episode or two, proving Colleen Wing won’t be the only Marvel character to cross over into Cage’s playground.
All 13 episodes of Luke Cage season 2 will premiere via Netflix on June 22nd. And after that? New installments of Iron Fist, Daredevil and The Punisher, the latter of which will see Frank Castle square off against a familiar foe…
