Laurie Strode’s Under Attack In First Halloween Photos

Can you hear that? It’s the sound of Blumhouse’s hype machine beginning to kick into gear ahead of this Friday’s big trailer debut for Halloween, Danny McBride and David Gordon Green’s highly anticipated reboot/sequel that’s set to ignore all films in the franchise but John Carpenter’s original.

And so, to get people ready for the footage that’s on its way, the studio’s now released the very first photos from the pic via USA Today, and you can check them out down in the gallery below. Though not terribly revealing, they give us a look at Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her role as Laurie Strode, who seems to be under attack from the menacing Michael Myers in one of the shots.

The other two, meanwhile, are focused entirely on the masked killer, and suffice it to say, he looks just as terrifying as ever. There’s not much else we can take from these, but seeing as this is our first official glimpse of Halloween, we’re certainly happy with what’s on display here.

In addition to the photos, USA Today also shed a bit more light on the film’s plot, revealing the following synopsis:

“A British documentary crew comes to the States to visit Michael in prison for a retrospective of the maniac’s night of terror — but their project becomes way more interesting when Myers escapes custody, retrieves his signature mask and seeks revenge on Laurie, with others naturally being part of his impressive career body count along the way.

In the decades following the fateful Halloween night that forever altered the former babysitter’s life, Laurie has armed and prepped herself for Michael’s inevitable return — to the detriment of her family, including daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak).”

Ever since CinemaCon heralded a first-look teaser for Halloween, and Jamie Lee Curtis asked horror fans to pack their adult diapers in time for October, excitement for David Gordon Green’s continuation has been through the roof – particularly after we learned that it’ll drop the admittedly contrived plot point that had Laurie and Michael as sister and brother. And now, with the trailer just days away, we simply can’t wait to see what’s in store for us.

Halloween returns home October 19th, and it promises to deliver a fitting send-off for Curtis’ scream queen as she steels herself for one final confrontation with Michael Myers.
