However, with production having kicked off in Washington D.C. this week, under the working title Magic Hour, an even bigger name has been seen in the United States capital – the first Diana of Themyscira, Lynda Carter. The actress’ presence at game four of the Stanley Cup Final between the Vegas Golden Knights and Washington Capitals last night has prompted many to believe that she’ll be making an appearance in the DC Heroine’s second standalone feature.

Unfortunately, Carter was unable to show up in the 2017 blockbuster due to a scheduling conflict. Thankfully, though, this time around it does look like the original Daughter of Hippolyta, who’s expressed interest in a cameo role, saying her inclusion is ultimately up to director Patty Jenkins, will be able to make it work.

While we await confirmation on whether or not Pine and Carter will indeed be invited to the party – fingers crossed, though – President and Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment, Geoff Johns, revealed late last week that the film will be set in 1984, roughly 70 years after the first pic ended the hero’s story in 1917.

Said to be imbued with all of the wisdom, wonder, and grace that made the original so unique, Wonder Woman 2, which will see Kristen Wiig portray the archenemy of Diana Prince, Cheetah, is slated for a release on November 1st, 2019, and as production continues to truck along, we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as any further updates arise.
