Legends Of Tomorrow’s Caity Lotz Discusses How Quentin’s Death Will Affect Sara

When Quentin Lance breathed his last during May's season finale of Arrow, I must confess that it didn't come as much of a shocker. It would have, though, if we weren't given advance notice that stalwart actor Paul Blackthorne would be leaving the series. After all, killing off a character that'd been around since the pilot episode aired would've blindsided us all.

Still, we’ve yet to explore the fallout of Star City’s most recent mayor’s demise. Though his passing will most assuredly affect Team Arrow as a whole, there are two women who’ll no doubt take it the hardest: His daughters Sara and Laurel. And though the latter is technically a doppelganger, she and Quentin established a decent relationship in months prior, ultimately setting Black Siren on her path to redemption.

When it comes to Sara, however, allowing her to deal with the situation is a bit trickier because she’s one of the leads on Legends of Tomorrow. Regardless, we expect for this to play out in some fashion come October.

Strangely enough, actress Caity Lotz has yet to learn the specifics, but was able to offer the following during a recent panel discussion:

“Everything is so sad. Why does everything that [Sara] loves die? I’m hoping, I think they’re starting to try to steer away from one show affecting the other shows too much, because it gets really complicated. But I don’t know where they’re going to go with it, but I really hope that we get to deal with it more. I mean, I’d love to go back onto Arrow and have some vengeance, kick-ass, happen.”

On the one hand, I agree with her in saying that the various shows making up the Arrowverse should rely less on their interconnectivity going forward – save for the crossovers – but there’s no way to get around White Canary losing her pappy. Thus, we can’t rule out her stopping by Arrow at least one more time to slap around Ricardo Diaz.

Legends of Tomorrow returns for its fourth season on Monday nights this fall on The CW.
