When we think of various superhero teams, there are naturally a few quintessential members who immediately spring to mind. But sometimes it can be fun to really mix up things, such as having Darkseid join the Justice League, or seeing Domino possibly being added to the Avengers.
Keeping that spirit, Cosmic Ghost Rider will no doubt deliver True Believers more than a few surprises this fall when Cable joins the Guardians of the Galaxy! Granted, this isn’t the familiar lineup consisting of the likes of Star-Lord, Drax and Gamora, but rather, a future iteration of the team boasting quite the eclectic roster.
As for who’ll join the time traveler in this ragtag group, it appears we can look forward to seeing Juggerduck, a bizarre Groot-Rocket hybrid and someone who appears to be Captain Marvel’s successor holding Captain America’s shield. Suffice it to say, we’ll be able to tell you more once information presents itself.
Right now, we have this decidedly vague synopsis to chew on:
COSMIC GHOST RIDER VS. THE FUTURE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY FOR THE FATE OF THE UNIVERSE! ’NUFF SAID!
And here’s what writer Donny Cates told ComicBook.com about the fun that comes with working on the series:
“Cosmic Ghost Rider is such a blast to work on. It’s honestly pretty overwhelming how much the Marvel fans have embraced this crazy character, and I’m having so much fun continuing the Rider’s insane story! If you thought ‘Thanos Wins’ was wild…you just wait to see what we have planned for everyone’s new favorite space lunatic!”
Cosmic Ghost Rider #3 arrives in comic shops this September.
