Production on Stranger Things season 3 has been underway since April, but we’ve only just got our first glimpse at Eleven’s new look in the upcoming run of Netflix’s smash hit spooky drama.

Millie Bobby Brown’s telekinetic heroine has evolved a lot over the past two years, and that looks to continue in season 3. As you can see in the gallery down below, a bunch of set photos from filming in Atlanta, Georgia have arrived online which show the young actress back at work following a recent knee injury which took her out of action for a few weeks.

The snaps reveal that Eleven will have straight, shoulder-length hair this season, as opposed to the close crop-cut from season 1 or the curly perm she had in season 2. Not much else can be gleaned from what we see here, but feast your eyes on the pics below.

The last time we saw Eleven, things were finally looking up for her. Hopper had officially adopted the fan favorite character and had decided to let her be an ordinary girl for once. She then went to The Snow Ball with Mike and had her first dance with him. However, you can bet that season 3 will interrupt this happy ending, as the final shot of season 2 saw the Shadow Monster looming over Hawkins High School in the Upside Down.

Stranger Things season 3 will also move things forward a year, as per previous runs, and will jump back into the lives of our assorted heroes during summer 1985. This setting will mark a change from seasons 1 and 2, which were set in the fall, around Halloween. Star Noah Schnapp promises that this will make the tone of the show slightly lighter, though there’ll still be the usual darkness and danger when it lands online in 2019.
