New Glass Photos Give Us A Good Look At The Main Characters

I've always felt that M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable was way ahead of its time. Released just a few months after Bryan Singer's original X-Men, the film deconstructed the modern superhero movie before most of them came out. While it was greeted with mild positivity on its original release its reputation has been steadily growing over the years, making it a welcome surprise when Shyamalan's 2016 film Split was revealed to be in the same universe in the post-credits scene. That leads us neatly into next January's Glass, which is picking up quite a bit of buzz at this year's San Diego Comic-Con.

We’ve already seen the tense trailer, which continues the franchise’s core premise of what superheroes might actually be like in the real world. And now, you can check out these three pictures that give us a better look at the principle characters: Bruce Willis’ superhumanly strong and impervious to harm David Dunn, Samuel L. Jackson’s genius with brittle bones Elijah Price (aka Mr Glass), and James McAvoy’s multiple personality afflicted Kevin Wendell Crumb.

Judging from the trailer, all three men end up in a psychiatric facility where people who ‘think’ they’re superpowered must stay under the care of a doctor played by Sarah Paulson. I’d be willing to bet she’s got some secret motive in bringing these guys together. That, or she’s about to get a real shock when she discovers their superpowers are real.

Written, directed and produced by Shyamalan, Glass is currently scheduled for a January 18th, 2019 release and we simply cannot wait to lay eyes on the full thing. After all, it’ll surely be a nice novelty to see a superhero franchise that’s not based on a pre-existing property, giving the director far more freedom to do what he wants with his characters.
