Just when you thought Avengers: Infinity War was a shoo-in for 2018 Crossover of the Year, American Horror Story comes along as a true dark horse – one galloping straight out of hell with fire in its belly and a harbinger of the apocalypse on its back.
That’s because American Horror Story season 8 is titled “Apocalypse,” and promises to push together the worlds of “Coven” and “Murder House” in spectacular fashion. It’s the crossover that Ryan Murphy and the Powers That Be over at FX have been threatening for years, and now, it’s only a day away.
So, in anticipation of the September 12th premiere, today heralds the first official photos from the new season, and they arrive just in time to get us acquainted with all the crazy characters we’ll soon be spending time with. From Sarah Paulson’s Ms. Wilhemina to Evan Peters’ Mr. Gallant, almost the entire main cast is spotlighted in the gallery below, and we can’t wait to learn more about these individuals over the coming weeks.
Casting-wise, aside from the aforementioned Paulson and Peters, Ryan Murphy’s filled out this season with an incredible roster of talent that boasts *deep breath* Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Kathy Bates, Leslie Grossman, Billy Eichner, Cheyenne Jackson, Cody Fern, Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, Taissa Farmiga, Lily Rabe, Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe and Stevie Nicks.
Expect American Horror Story season 8 to break new ground for FX’s anthology series on September 12th. And there’s still plenty more madness to come after that, too, as the network’s already gone ahead and secured plans for seasons 9 and 10, so fans needn’t worry about having to say goodbye to the twisted stories spun from Murphy’s brilliant brain anytime soon.
