And just when you thought you were finally starting to put the pieces together in the wild puzzle that is “Elseworlds,” this year’s Arrowverse crossover, you stumble upon this.

Seen in the gallery down below is a set photo which surfaced last night that seemingly confirms we’ll be seeing two different Supermen in the upcoming event. Tyler Hoechlin will play both, of course, and in the pic we have here, the actor’s dressed in his sleek new black suit, presumably as the evil Superman. His stunt double, meanwhile, is wearing the more classic costume, and is likely portraying the regular Superman for this particular scene.

While the reason for having two different Men of Steel running around the Arrowverse isn’t entirely clear at this time, it’s yet another intriguing piece of the puzzle that fans will now need to mull over, as the wait until December becomes even harder.

If you’ve been keeping up, you’ll know that Superman in a black suit, or even two different Supermen should be expected by this point. After all, it’s just been one curveball after another when it comes to this year’s crossover. From the shocking reveal that Barry and Oliver will be swapping places to the mysterious presence of Arkham Asylum and, of course, the presence of The Monitor, there’s been much to discuss and dissect lately.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting any clear answers ahead of showtime, but with October now behind us and November about to begin, you can take comfort in the fact that this year’s Arrowvese crossover is only about 5 weeks away. In case you haven’t marked your calendars yet, know that it begins on Sunday, December 9 with The Flash, continues on Monday, December 10 with Arrow, and wraps up on Tuesday, December 11 with Supergirl.
