Here’s When The New Green Arrow May Be Unmasked

This season on Arrow, viewers have thus far had two major questions on their minds: when will Oliver Queen get out of prison and just who is the new Emerald Archer running around Star City? Actually, it looks like the former will occur soon enough during "The Slabside Redemption," but we now have a pretty solid lead on the latter.

You see, we’ve known since last month of how an episode set to air this fall would be titled “Unmasked,” but today is the day we can tell you it’ll arrive on December 3rd. Not only that, but we have an official synopsis to go along with said confirmation:

FELICITY MAKES CERTAIN DECISIONS FOR HER FAMILY — Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) stands by her recent decisions regarding her family. Meanwhile, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson) continue to look into the Dante painting that Curtis (Echo Kellum) found. Alexandra La Roche directed the episode written by Oscar Balderrama & Beth Schwartz (#708). Original airdate 12/3/2018.

As you probably noticed, there’s no mention of the new Green Arrow in that description, but there’s really nothing else to apply the term “Unmasked” to. My educated guess says the network is doing its best to avoid talking about the situation, instead focusing on the other plot threads for the time being.

In the past, unmaskings for the Dark Archer and Prometheus were never divulged ahead of time, so I’m wondering why this would happen now. Regardless, I’m guaranteeing that I’ll be tuning in.

When it comes to who’s under the hood, bets are still being placed. Roy Harper remains a prime suspect, though it’s probably safe to drop the “William traveling back from the future” theory. To be honest, I could see the new vigilante being Emiko Queen in her live action debut, but we can’t know for certain until the time comes.

Arrow airs on Monday nights on The CW.
