New Promo Teases What’s To Come In The Flash’s 100th Episode

Just before we get to grips with the "Elseworlds" crossover this Sunday, the Arrowverse will reach another milestone first, as The Flash celebrates its 100th ever episode. In true Central City style, the outing will feature some time-traveling shenanigans and looks to be a celebration of how far the show's come over the past five seasons.

Episode 5×08, titled “What’s Past is Prologue,” will see Barry Allen and his daughter from the future Nora dive back into the speedster’s personal history as part of a new plan to stop big bad Cicada. As the previous promo proved, the premise is a way to give us the return of the show’s past major foes (see: Savitar, Zoom and Tom Cavanagh’s Reverse-Flash).

This new trailer for the episode (up above), though, promises even more familiar faces and nods to the past. Just for fun, it plays them all at top speed, but thanks to the magical invention of YouTube’s differing speed options, we can dig a little deeper into the teaser to see what awaits us in the 100th episode.

For one, some of the flashes include a glimpse at Gorilla Grodd in his cage, a moment featuring Robbie Amell as Ronnie Raymond and a few shots of season 4’s big bad The Thinker. Much of the episode seems to be set on the launch night of the particle accelerator, too – the night Barry got his powers and the setting for The Flash‘s pilot episode. Obviously, it’s a fitting event to set the show’s nostalgic 100th episode around.

For more on what awaits, be sure to check out the synopsis below:

In the 100th episode, Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash come up with a plan to stop Cicada (Chris Klein). However, the plan calls for Barry and Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) to travel back in time to gather some key necessities. However, Barry hesitates, concerned about his daughter seeing certain parts of his life. Meanwhile, Sherloque (Tom Cavanagh) takes his concerns about Nora to Iris (Candice Patton), and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) turns up a key asset in the fight against Cicada.

The Flash 5×08 “What’s Past Is Prologue” – which is directed by Tom Cavanagh, by the way – airs tomorrow night on The CW.
