The Flash Stars May’ve Just Revealed Reverse-Flash’s New Costume

With each passing season, we as a viewing audience have become so focused on whether Green Arrow or the Flash will don new costumes that we don't spend too much time thinking about their rivals gaining fashion upgrades. After all, not many villains appear on such a recurring basis, therefore it's understandable we overlook this.

With each passing season, we as a viewing audience have become so focused on whether Green Arrow or the Flash will don new costumes that we don’t spend too much time thinking about their rivals gaining fashion upgrades. After all, not many villains appear on such a recurring basis, therefore it’s understandable we overlook this.

But when it comes to the Reverse-Flash, that guy has found so many loopholes in time traveling and hopping between alternate realities that death has become a temporary inconvenience for him. Having appeared throughout various seasons of both The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, Eobard Thawne has become a seemingly omnipresent thorn in the side of Arrowverse heroes.

Given that, it makes sense he be an evildoer granted new threads. And from the look of it, he may very well get some in the early part of 2019. Funny enough, some concept art was revealed during a holiday video posted by cast members Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes, and can be seen below in a package put together by Pagey.

Longtime fans of the series should recognize the piece as a previously existing work created by conceptual artist John Gallagher, only this time it’s been given some noticeable tweaks. Had this not been unveiled by Cavanagh and Valdes themselves, I’d have immediately dismissed it. But since it came by way of those fellas, I’m now hoping to see the former rocking that suit before long.

New costume aside, we’ll definitely be seeing Eobard Thawne when season 5B picks up. I mean, not only did he factor into the midseason finale’s shocking cliffhanger, but he’s also been confirmed to play a large part in what’s to come. Hey, if anyone deserves to be an unstoppable big bad, it’s the Scarlet Speedster’s ultimate nemesis.

The Flash returns with new episodes on Tuesday, January 15th on The CW.
