Recently, it’s been a popular prediction that the title will be dropping by the end of this month, and while February looms closer with no official sign that the speculation is on the right track, a new report from Reddit has helped fuel the theory that we could find out the name of J.J. Abrams’ upcoming trilogy closer in the next few days.

According to one user who claims to have a source that works at CBS, a short Episode IX preview will air during the 53rd Super Bowl on February 3rd, with the network listing the ad slot as “existing Star Wars Episode IX teaser.” That “existing” part of the listing is key here, since it apparently implies that the teaser will be released prior to the event.

The Redditor also mentions that while Disney has reserved a couple of CBS airtime slots, no footage has been given to the network, though the slots are said to be under 30 seconds, suggesting that this won’t be anything as big as a full trailer. A fellow anonymous user also replied to this post by saying that they too work at CBS, and that they believe this info to be genuine.

Needless to say, this should all be taken with the usual grain of salt, though again, Lucasfilm’s own marketing history makes this alleged schedule seem plausible enough. In any case, we have a couple of weeks to see whether these claims check out, but regardless of what the remainder of this month might bring, all will be revealed when Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20th, 2019.
