Iris’ Life Is Threatened In New Synopsis For The Flash

In recent memory, Nora West-Allen has managed to get herself into one pickle after another. Usually, she runs headstrong into a situation to impress her father, Barry, and her inexperience sometimes gets the best of her. In fact, the latest episode of The Flash saw her back broken by Cicada (don't worry, speedsters heal much quicker than others), with the next installment stranding her inside the mind of the big bad's niece.

Fortunately, we’ll get to see her play hero without incident (at least, I hope) once “Cause and XS” airs in a matter of weeks. And as the freshly released synopsis indicates, her mother, Iris, will be in need of saving this time:

IRIS’S LIFE IS THREATENED — After Iris (Candice Patton) lands in serious danger, Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) races to save her mother. Barry (Grant Gustin) puts the finishing touches on the metahuman cure, leaving Cisco (Carlos Valdes) with a rare night off so he decides to take Kamilla (guest star Victoria Park) on a date. Rachel Talalay directed the episode written by Todd Helbing & Jeff Hersh (#514). Original airdate 2/12/2019.

In addition to what’s going on with Nora, it looks like that metahuman cure being cooked up is near completion. And even though this could be good for those who don’t want powers, the threat of it being weaponized by an outside party is very real. I guess for all of the pop culture references Cisco makes, he never saw X-Men: The Last Stand.

Speaking of Cisco, it appears as though he’s finally getting back on his feet in a romantic sense. We’ll have to wait and see if this Kamilla will be able to heal the emotional wounds left by Gypsy, but I’m sure viewers are rooting for him.

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW, with “Cause and XS” being set to debut on February 12th.
