A few days ago, several Avengers: Endgame LEGO figures leaked online that teased the return of three of Iron Man’s older suits in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War sequel. But while a few callbacks to the hero’s solo adventures would be all well and good, Tony Stark is a character who’s always looking ahead to the next suit of armor, which is where this latest toy leak comes in.
The newly shared minifig photo sees Iron Man in a new outfit that’s been identified as the Mark 85 armor from the comics. Indeed, this is hardly the first leak to suggest such a suit for Robert Downey Jr.’s character, but this may well be our most detailed look at the design to date.
So far, we’ve yet to see any actual photos or footage of Downey in the suit, with the film’s first trailer showing the character armor-free as he drifts helplessly through space. That being said, there remains a distinct possibility that Marvel Studios will be dropping another teaser for Endgame during this Sunday’s Super Bowl. Granted, nothing has been confirmed yet, but we do know that Disney has bought up an undisclosed number of ad slots for the game, and with Infinity War getting a Super Bowl spot of its own last year, the popular prediction definitely has some basis to it.
In any case, out of the many suits that Iron Man has worn over the years, there’s reason to believe that the Mark 85 could go down as his very last, with Avengers: Endgame looking likely to be Downey’s last major outing in the MCU. If so, then here’s hoping he puts his final outfit to good use when the film hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
