Over the past seven years of the Arrowverse, we’ve had a fair few milestone episodes, so we’re used to them being must-see installments that celebrate how far whichever show it is has come since it began. Usually, that means the odd former cast member might return for a cameo to give the fans a thrill.
Yesterday’s 150th episode of Arrow, titled “Emerald Archer,” followed this tradition by bringing back a whole bunch of familiar faces. The outing utilized an unusual structure, too, as it was punctured with scenes from a documentary being made about the rise of vigilantes in Star City over the past decade. This allowed multiple heroes and allies – both dead and alive – from the show’s past to reappear.
There were quite a few of them, too, so just in case you missed any of the surprise appearances, we’ve put together a little rundown of who was seen, and you can check it out below.
Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne): Lance died back in the season 6 finale, but it seems that he gave an interview for the documentary before he passed away, as he appears in the episode’s opening scene.
Thea Queen (Willa Holland): Oliver’s half-sister Thea also left Star City last season but must’ve talked with the documentary makers before she skipped town.
Sara Lance (Caity Lotz): The captain of the Waverider must’ve made a return to 21st century Star City to provide an interview, probably around the time of her father’s death.
Sin (Bex Taylor-Klaus): Sin, the former protege of Sara Lance last seen in season 3, spoke to the documentary crew in defense of vigilantes, suggesting she’s still living in Star City in the present.
Rory Regan (Joe Dinicol): Ragman returned for the first time since season 5 for the documentary, though it looks like he might have also been killed off-screen.
Barry Allen (Grant Gustin): Yes, the Flash himself gave an interview on his pal Oliver Queen’s behalf, though his attempts to pretend he didn’t know he was the Green Arrow were laughable.
That’s the full list, minus the archival footage used of Earth-1 Laurel Lance and Helena Bertinelli in action (Katie Cassidy and Jessica De Gouw didn’t film any new footage as the characters). But the end of the episode also revealed another shock appearance in a flash-forward. That being that Joseph David-Jones reprised his role as the older John Diggle Jr./Connor Hawke from Legends of Tomorrow season 1, who’s apparently partners with Blackstar in the current future.
