In a recent promo image released to the Orville Redenbacher website, we see Steve in a new costume that looks a fair bit like his old ones, complete with ‘A’ logos on the mask and shoulders, but with some stylish new chainmail texture thrown into the mix. When it was first revealed last year that Chris Evans would be going beardless for Marvel’s Phase 3 finale, some fans were distraught to see the facial hair go, but it seems that the beard may have been a necessary sacrifice as Cap transitions to a look that goes back to hero’s roots.

Going by the recent Endgame TV spot, even Steve’s shield is reverting back to its old design after the Wakandan accessory he used at the climax of Avengers: Infinity War. So far, it remains to seen how Cap retrieves his classic prop after Tony Stark acquired it at the end of Civil War, though seeing how Iron Man is currently stuck drifting the cosmos somewhere, it probably wouldn’t be too hard for Steve to find a way to get it back.

In any case, it’s a popular prediction right now that Avengers: Endgame will be Cap’s MCU swan song, in which case, you can expect Steve to go out fighting when the film hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
