We don’t know when it’ll arrive, but rest assured, it’s most definitely coming.
We’re talking, of course, about the very first Battle Pass for Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment’s new battle royale shooter that’s finding itself as the talk of the town right now, and understandably so. After all, could anyone have predicted that it would amass 50 million players in its first month on the market?
Anyways, circling back to the Battle Pass, and though it was expected to be released today, March 12th, the developer issued a statement earlier saying that we’ve still got a bit of a wait before it arrives – though from what we understand, it’ll still go live this month. And for those of you looking to pick it up, the team at Games Radar have figured out how to snag it for half price.
According to them, it’ll cost 950 Apex Coins, and you can buy a pack of 1000 for $9.99. But why do that when you can grab it for even cheaper? Below, you’ll find the steps that the outlet put forth to help folks save a bit of money – you can thank them later.
- Sign up for Origin Access Basic if you play on PC or EA Access Basic if you play on Xbox One. One month costs $4.99 / £3.99, which will be charged up front.
- Log in to Apex Legends on the same account you used to sign up before. Once the lobby loads, you should see a special screen that tells you all the Apex goodies you got with your subscription – including 1,000 Apex coins!
- Cancel your EA Access or Origin Access subscription. You can just head to this page to cancel Origin Access, or log into your Xbox Account and head to the subscriptions section to cancel EA Access.
- Buy the battle pass in the in-game store once it’s available and enjoy your discount!
Pretty easy, right? On top of all that, you’ll also get a special skin for the VK-47 Flatline as well as a card badge. But the good news doesn’t end there, as you’ll also be treated to all of the usual benefits of EA/Origin Access, “which include a 10-hour early access trial for upcoming games and a large collection of released games to download and play free.”
All things considered, we see no reason why you shouldn’t take advantage of this – it’s completely legitimate, after all – and with the first Battle Pass set to go live any day now (we hope), we imagine Respawn will start spilling their plans for what’s coming to Apex Legends sooner rather than later. As always, watch this space for more.
