New Arrow Promo Gives First Possible Look At Emiko As Red Arrow

At this point in time, it may be fair to say that Arrow season 7's true big bad is that of Dante. After being built up as a whisper on the lips of ARGUS and Ricardo Diaz for months, we finally met the international terrorist and banker during his most recent trip to Star City. And before that particular episode concluded, viewers learned that he's in collusion with Emiko Queen.

To be honest, it’s entirely possible that Emiko may emerge as a force for good before the current season wraps, though you never know when producers will deviate from the source material. Because of that possibility, we can’t be certain she’s to be trusted.

For those unfamiliar, Emiko’s comic book counterpart also had history with Dante’s organization, the Ninth Circle, but she eventually transitioned to becoming Red Arrow. Based on what we can gather from the promo found at the top of this article, she’s trading in her Green Arrow duds for something inspired by the printed page.

Of course, she’s not the first archer in town to favor scarlet attire. Both Roy Harper (Aresenal) and Thea Queen (Speedy) both painted the town a certain color in previous seasons, with the latter actually hoping that the team refer to her as “Red Arrow” – but nobody would. Whether Emiko claims that moniker remains to be seen, though my gut says she will.

For more on “Inheritance,” be sure to check out the official synopsis:

LAUREL TEAMS UP WITH OLIVER — Laurel (Katie Cassidy Rodgers) learns about some damaging information that affects Emiko (Sea Shimooka). Always looking to protect his sister, Oliver (Stephen Amell) invites Laurel to help investigate, which makes Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) happy as her friend is now working with the team. However, when things go awry, Felicity is forced to make a choice between the team and Laurel. Patia Prouty directed the episode written by Sarah Tarkhoff & Elizabeth Kim (#717). Original airdate 3/25/2019.

Arrow airs on Monday nights on The CW.
