Supernatural Season 13

The CW Pulls The Plug On Supernatural, To End After Season 15

Supernatural is the longest-running show in the history of the CW, having aired more than 300 episodes across its 14 seasons. Over the years it has picked up a passionate fanbase, maintained a consistent level of quality and not been afraid to push the boat out (see the excellent Scooby Doo crossover. Season 15 is currently in production but, sadly, it seems it will be the show's finale.  Stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins took to Twitter this afternoon to post what is obviously an emotional announcement for them. Season 15 is currently in production but sadly, it seems it’ll be the show’s finale. Stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins took to Twitter this afternoon to post what’s obviously an emotional announcement for them. Check it out for yourself below:

“Though we’re very very excited about moving into our 15th season, it will be our last. 15 years of a show which has certainly changed my life … and we just wanted you to hear from us that thought we’re excited about next year it will be the finale. The big grand finale of an institution.”

The news immediately caused an outpouring of emotion in response. Fans have replied to the video with touching messages like, “Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for 15 seasons. We will always be grateful for everything you have given us,” “Before we start crying, let us say that we love you guys more than you’ll ever know,” “Love you guys so very much, and I appreciate the hell out of you all telling us personally, and in such a living and respectful way. You’ve changed my life so positively,” and ” You’ve created something so incredibly amazing and powerful for so many people around the world. Thank you.”

While this is obviously a sad day for Supernatural fans, rumors of the show reaching an end had been circling for a while. Season 14 was shorter than usual, with Padalecki explaining that the rigors of so much filming were keeping him from his family. Plus, 15 years of a single show is more than a decent run for anybody.

No word yet on precisely when Season 15 will air, but we’ll have the details as soon as we know. Watch this space for more, and if you have any cherished Supernatural memories, please let us know in the comments section down below.
