While most of this footage hasn’t been released to the public previously, a description of the scene emerged over a month ago after it was screened to Disney shareholders. The video starts off with Black Widow noting that Thanos has used the Infinity Stones in another part of the galaxy, allowing the team to track where they’ve been. While James Rhodes and Bruce Banner both seem cautious about approaching the Mad Titan again after last year’s defeat, Carol Danvers is set on finding the purple tyrant, getting the stones and using them to bring everyone back.

Natasha Romanoff and Steve Rogers both agree, and when Bruce asks how they know things will go any differently than they did in Avengers: Infinity War, Carol responds, “Because before you didn’t have me.” With that in mind, Rhodey asks where exactly she’s been all this time. Carol answers by explaining that there are a lot of other planets in the universe that don’t have the Avengers to protect them.

From here, Thor, who’s been sitting quietly in the background up to this point, gets up and enacts the familiar scene from last month’s trailer. As you may recall, the moment sees the God of Thunder summon his weapon, which comes whizzing past Carol’s head. Observing how she doesn’t even flinch, Thor declares, “I like this one.”

In all likelihood, this scene is taken from the early stretches of the film, meaning that the gang may still have almost three hours of adventuring ahead of them. We can therefore assume the team’s latest mission isn’t going to be quite as straightforward as they hope it will be, but we’ll find out how the drama unfolds from here when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
