Tony Tries To Pull Off The Impossible In New Avengers: Endgame Promo

“I’m trying to pull off something damn near impossible, and to not die trying would be nice.” So says Tony Stark in just one of the many Avengers: Endgame TV spots that have emerged in the last couple of days. Though the full context to this quote has yet be revealed, there’s a very good chance that Iron Man is referring to the team’s mission to reverse the snap from Avengers: Infinity War, in which case, he might well pull off the damn near impossible. Whether or not he dies trying, however, is another matter.

So says Tony Stark in just one of the many Avengers: Endgame TV spots that have emerged in the last couple of days. Though the full context to this quote has yet be revealed, there’s a very good chance that Iron Man is referring to the team’s mission to reverse the snap from Avengers: Infinity War, in which case, he might well pull off the damn near impossible. Whether or not he dies trying, however, is another matter.

Speaking of characters whose demise may or may not be imminent though, the TV spot is edited to suggest that Tony is talking to his old friend Steve Rogers. As it stands, the two heroes have yet to share a scene since 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, when the pair parted ways on bad terms. With next week’s release, however, it’s expected that the two of them will resolve their differences in time for the final fight. The new preview even features the already familiar clip of Cap and Iron Man renewing their trust with a friendly handshake.

The moment was enough to get fans all emotional when it first featured in a trailer released earlier this month. But despite the clip showing up in multiple TV spots since then, co-directors Anthony and Joe Russo have claimed that the scene isn’t even in the actual film.

It’s a pretty perplexing confession to make, and many have wondered if the filmmakers are just trying to throw off the fans. But if the scene was such a spoiler that the Russo Brothers felt the need to lie about it, then why even include it in the trailers in the first place?

Regardless, we’ll find out what’s really in store for Cap and Iron Man when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
