Avengers: Endgame Directors Apologize To Tom Holland For Dusting Spidey

Peter Parker suffered a sad fate in Avengers: Infinity War that hit a lot of filmgoers right where it hurts. The Russo Brothers Twitter account recently shared a video of Joe Russo enjoying himself with Chris Hemsworth on the China leg of their tour. In the caption, the filmmakers offered an apology to Holland for killing off his character:

“Missing you @TomHolland1996 and @MarkRuffalo this from last year boys? Sorry we dusted you Tom. Had a blast with @chrishemsworth this year…”

The tweet is presumably referring to the photo that surfaced last year of Holland and Ruffalo riding the Tron rollercoaster on the Infinity War press tour. At the time, the joke was that Marvel’s two notorious “Spoiler Bros.” were making a quick getaway after leaking valuable intel.

Jump a year later, and Holland is missing all the perks that come with promoting Endgame across the world, but you can still expect him to show up somewhere in the upcoming flick. After all, Spider-Man: Far From Home is just a couple of months away, and Peter sure can’t be the star of his second solo outing if he’s still a pile of dust.

As for Ruffalo, Bruce Banner had the good fortune of surviving the snap, but the Avengers: Endgame promotion has left much to the imagination about his character’s arc. In particular, Hulk has been completely absent from the film’s trailers, and his lack of presence has got fans wondering just what Marvel is trying to hide. Our answer will surely come when the flick hits theaters on April 26th.
