Avengers: Endgame

There’s Now An App To Tell You When To Take A Bathroom Break During Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame certainly isn’t the only blockbuster from this century to exceed the 3-hour mark (Peter Jackson alone has released two – and that’s only counting the theatrical cuts), but if the idea of sitting still for almost 181 minutes sounds like a strain on the bladder, then there’s one app than might help you out.

The RunPee App was created by Dan Gardner as a means of helping fans to find the perfect time to take a bathroom break. The app’s website describes the product as follows:

“We’ve all been there, enjoying a movie, when nature calls. It starts with a whisper, then becomes a shout. Before you know it, you’re not watching the movie so much as watching for a chance to make a mad dash to the restroom. The RunPee app takes the guesswork out of this for you. We watch every wide release movie to find the best scenes you can use, if you need to run and pee.”

Of course, you might also be lucky to live in a region where the Avengers: Infinity War sequel has been given an intermission. But if not, then for what it’s worth, co-directors Anthony and Joe Russo have claimed that almost none of their test viewers felt the need to get up to go to the bathroom.

Alternatively, in an interview with the Toronto Sun, Karen Gillan recently advised filmgoers to “bring tissues and diapers,” though for the sake of the people sitting next to you, we ask that you at least consider other options first.

In any case, Endgame’s hefty runtime has so far done little to dissuade audiences overseas, where the film has already beaten the single-day box records in China, Taiwan, Thailand and Australia. Meanwhile, things are looking very good for the movie’s domestic release, with Fandango reporting earlier today that they’ve sold out a record-breaking 8,000 showtimes.

Evidently, a huge number of people are going to see Avengers: Endgame this weekend, even if they won’t necessary stay in their seats for the duration. Either way, you can judge for yourself if the film is worth punishing your bladder for when it arrives in theaters on April 26th.
