Latest Fortnite Update Adds Guardians Of The Galaxy Star-Lord Skin And More

Unless you have a habit of living under rocks, there's a chance you might have caught wind of a specific film release last week. Marvel's Avengers: Endgame has finally unleashed itself upon the world (predictably leaving serveral smashed box office records in its wake) and Fortnite wasted no time in celebrating the occasion. Following a short-lived teaser campaign last week, Epic Games paid tribute to the MCU's closing chapter of the Infinity Saga with a brand new event.

The aptly-named Endgame Limited-Time Mode pits two teams of players against each other in a high-stakes battle for control of the Infinity Stones. Either as one of Thanos’ Chitauri or a would-be hero, it’s your job to secure the powerful trinkets by any means necessary. Through treasure hunts and chest looting, those on the Heroes team can obtain mythical artefacts themed after various members of the Avengers, while their counterparts are eligible to become Thanos himself.

But of course, what use is such an event without suitably-themed rewards? Epic has made sure to take players’ material needs into account, having added a unique list of challenges to Endgame for regulars to complete. Doing so will provide access to several rewards taken straight from the film series, though some can only be purchased via Fortnite‘s in-game currency. The self-explanatory Black Widow bundle went on sale last week, with more promised to come.

That promise has been delivered on today via the latest update to Fortnite‘s in-game store. Guardians of the Galaxy fans will no doubt be most excited about the new stock, which includes a skin themed after Star-Lord. If you’re not interested in dropping 1,500 V-Bucks for that wardrobe addition though, others include:

  • Guardian Axe – Pickaxe (Marvel) – 500 V-Bucks
  • The Milano – Glider (Marvel) – 1,200 V-Bucks
  • Dance Off Emote (Marvel) – 500 V-Bucks

For a try-before-you-buy of the new costume and emote, see Epic’s announcement below.
