Fortnite Reveals New Teaser For Avengers: Endgame Event

Fortnite players the world over are on the cusp of celebrating the release of Avengers: Endgame with a brand new event. Not until tomorrow, will Epic Games fully reveal exactly what the occasion entails, but that hasn't stopped the developer from playing into the hype with a series of teasers. Initial confirmation of the event arrived earlier this week when Epic posted an image of a Fortnite avatar wielding Captain America's shield, whipping players into a frenzy of excitement.

Akin to last year’s crossover – which saw supervillain Thanos take a vacation to Battle Island after wiping out half of civilization – the upcoming collaboration appears to be adding a series of new items and skins for players to get their hands on, not least Cappy’s star-spangled shield.

A further teaser dispatched yesterday revealed that Thor’s hammer is also set to appear, followed by another today that confirms the addition of some Stark tech. Donning Iron Man’s entire suit might be somewhat out of the question, but the hero’s gauntlets at least, are pictured. Given what we’ve so far seen, it seems likely that every major member of the Avengers will be represented some way in-game, including the Hulk.

As for the gameplay content of the event itself, Epic is remaining tight-lipped, though don’t be surprised if it has some relation to mysterious runes showing up at Loot Lake. The volcano introduced to Battle Island during Season 8 has been witnessed billowing smoke from its epicenter to coincide with the runes’ appearance, too, so whatever happens tomorrow, expect it to begin with a bang.

Taking into account all of the above with recent leaks indicating Thanos’ return, the likelihood is that Fortnite‘s crossover event with Avengers: Endgame will take the form of a Limited-Time mode, rather than included as part of the battle royale’s standard play modes, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

See you tomorrow, for the big reveal.
