The ruthless bounty hunter was first seen in The Devil’s Rejects, when he was hired to track down the Firefly clan. Trejo is one of several stars of the 2005 film to reprise their role for the upcoming sequel. The titular trio of Three From Hell, for instance, are Captain Spaulding, Otis B. Driftwood and Vera-Ellen “Baby” Firefly, played again by Sid Haig, Bill Moseley and Sheri Moon Zombie, respectively.

Seeing how principal photography wrapped in April of last year, it’s strange to think that we still don’t have a release date for Zombie’s next feature. On top of that, we’ve yet to see any footage from the movie, though in a message posted over the weekend, the director mentioned that he’s hoping to get a trailer out in the world “ASAP.”

As it stands, no official synopsis exists for the film. However, if the many set photos shared by Zombie in the past year are anything to go by, then Baby, Otis and Spaulding will probably spend much of the movie behind bars. The pics of Moon wearing a “Free Baby” t-shirt, meanwhile, suggest that the trio may have some support from the outside world, as well as receiving a fair amount of press coverage.

In any case, it’s been a long journey for Three From Hell, but Zombie has promised that it’ll all be worth it once we see the movie “in all its bloody glory splashed across the big screen.” As for when exactly that will be, the filmmaker has previously mentioned that they’re aiming for an early fall release.
