Deadpool 3 Will Explain How The Merc Ends Up In The MCU

In typical fashion, it looks like Deadpool 3 will feature a fourth wall-breaking segment in order to explain how the merc will end up in the MCU.

While we certainly enjoyed how Avengers: Endgame wrapped up the long-running Infinity Saga, we’re also excited to see what Phase 4 has in store for us. Now that Thanos – and unfortunately, a few key heroes – are gone from the picture, Disney has the chance to work with a (somewhat) clean slate, and introduce a handful of new characters and villains. Of course, one question’s still lingering in the back of everyone’s mind: how is Deadpool going to fit into all of this?

Frankly, there’s been a lot of speculation as to how the Merc with a Mouth will find his place within the MCU. In the past, some outlets reported Marvel was unsure if it wanted to move forward in making the third film, while others suggested the series would transition to Disney’s upcoming streaming service. A few of us here at We Got This Covered were confused by it all, and understandably so, but an industry insider has now shared a few key details.

Not only does the House of Mouse plan to move forward with Deadpool 3 (which is going to be R-rated, no less), but it looks like everyone’s favorite mercenary will take it upon himself to explain to audiences how he fits into the MCU as a whole. That’s right; expect another fourth wall-breaking sequence, which reportedly takes the form of an exposition dump.

It’s not entirely clear what the creative team at Marvel has come up with, but there’s chatter that it’ll involve alternate timelines and realities. This wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility, either, seeing as how Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to introduce us to the Multiverse.

We’ll have to wait for an official confirmation from Disney, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted on any additional information as it comes to light. And in the meantime, we’re eager to hear your thoughts, so tell us, how do you think Deadpool 3 should transition into the MCU? As always, be sure to drop a comment down below.
