Deadpool May Get His Own Disney Plus Show Instead Of A Third Film

It's a fact. Following the Disney/Fox merger, Deadpool's on his way into the MCU, but how will this be achieved? MCU Cosmic's Jeremy Conrad has reported that a trusted source has informed him that Marvel's currently considering three different options of folding Ryan Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth into the franchise. And one of those is giving the antihero his own Disney Plus TV series.

That’s all we know at the moment but, if this plan goes ahead, a Deadpool show would join other series on the slate such as Loki, WandaVision and Falcon and Winter Soldier. These are set to explore alternate timelines, a potential reality-warping of the MCU and Sam Wilson as the next Captain America, so the platform will be of the utmost importance to the franchise going forward.

The only thing about this report is that it seemingly conflicts with everything Disney CEO Bob Iger and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige have said about Deadpool’s future in the MCU. We’ve been promised that the character would be kept much the same and that R-rated movies were on the way.

Seeing how we’ve been so publicly told to expect more DP on the big screen, this Disney Plus plan must only mean that Marvel’s thinking of using the streaming service to introduce him into the MCU. After that, they would presumably continue his film franchise with Deadpool 3. Although, with the studio still keeping a bit quiet on the specifics of it all, who knows what they may have planned?

In any case, this report also says that the number one option at this time is the most obvious: make another movie. Maybe Feige’s getting cold feet about letting Deadpool loose on his carefully-crafted MCU though, which is why he’s thinking of taking baby steps first with the TV show. Or perhaps he’s upset that the Donald Glover animated series never happened and he’s trying to make up for it?

We’ll have to wait and see just what Marvel has in store for us, but tell us, how do you think Deadpool should make his MCU debut? As always, let us know down below.
