Batwoman Trailer

Times Are Changing In This New Batwoman Trailer

Within the next few months, it's only inevitable that we be treated to more footage promoting the highly anticipated Batwoman TV series. Having already been gifted with a sizable and badass trailer last month, it's probably fair to assume our next significant helping will arrive at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

Of course, something with a shorter running time will be required to air during commercial breaks leading up to the time of premiere. In most cases, I’ve been seeing that brief teaser showing Gotham City’s new protector standing on a rooftop during The Flash, iZombie and whatever other CW shows I’ve been watching in recent weeks.

Now, it appears as though the network has another breadcrumb to share, this time showing Kate Kane out of costume. In the new promo found at the top of this article, you can see the titular heroine defying the wishes of someone else when it comes to helping the needy. Then, she takes off on her motorcycle.

While this is just fine, I’d like to see more of Batwoman in costume. This scene provided seems kind of odd out of context, and I’m sure more shots of the new Caped Crusader kicking ass will offer potential viewers more incentive. Truth be told, that sort of stuff can’t be too far off, so let’s just remain patient.

For more info, be sure to check out the official synopsis:

Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) never planned to be Gotham’s new vigilante. Three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared, Gotham is a city in despair. Without the Caped Crusader, the Gotham City Police Department was overrun and outgunned by criminal gangs. Enter Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) and his military-grade Crows Private Security, which now protects the city with omnipresent firepower and militia. Years before, Jacob’s first wife and daughter were killed in the crossfire of Gotham crime. He sent his only surviving daughter, Kate Kane, away from Gotham for her safety.

After a dishonorable discharge from military school and years of brutal survival training, Kate returns home when the Alice in Wonderland gang targets her father and his security firm, by kidnapping his best Crow officer Sophie Moore (Meagan Tandy). Although remarried to wealthy socialite Catherine Hamilton-Kane (Elizabeth Anweis), who bankrolls the Crows, Jacob is still struggling with the family he lost, while keeping Kate –– the daughter he still has –– at a distance. But Kate is a woman who’s done asking for permission. In order to help her family and her city, she’ll have to become the one thing her father loathes –– a dark knight vigilante.

Batwoman is set to air on Sunday nights this fall on The CW.
