It’s a sad day for NFL fans that are subscribers to Time Warner Cable. According to the Sports Business Journal, the negotiations between the NFL Network and Time Warner Cable are over, and most likely done for the year. Time Warner still will not carry the NFL Network or the NFL RedZone channel for the foreseeable future.
Executives from both sides met last week, and have no immediate plans to meet again.
With Thursday Night Football set to start up in a few weeks, many parts of the country will be forced to find other avenues to get their Thursday pro football fix. Pro Football Talk may have said it best when voicing the disgust over the lack of NFLN in more homes;
The league’s network has done an incredible job creating outstanding programming, but the NFL should not own a channel available in fewer homes than MLB Network, the Golf Channel, and Speed.
Really… Speed is in more homes than the NFL Network. That’s just embarrassing.
