Another Haunting Of Hill House Star Returning For The New Season

Netflix's The Haunting of Hill House was one of the most talked-about television shows of last year, and less than four months after the show premiered the streaming giant announced a second season. The first ten episodes were loosely based on Shirley Jackson's novel of the same name, which also inspired both the 1963 and 1999 versions of The Haunting, with the second season to be an adaptation of Henry James' The Turn of the Screw under the title The Haunting of Bly Manor.

Other than the expected news that creator Mike Flanagan will once again be overseeing the latest batch of episodes, not a lot is known about The Haunting of Bly Manor. Victoria Pedretti, who played Nell Crain in Hill House, will be taking the lead role but as a different character, and with shooting set to begin in September, it was only a matter of time before more casting news started to leak out.

On that note, another Hill House alumni has joined the second season. Oliver Cohen-Jackson, who played Luke Crain in the first season and was recently cast as the title character in Universal and Blumhouse’s reboot of The Invisible Man, has boarded the project. Details are incredibly scarce other than the fact the actor is playing a character named Peter, described simply as “a charming fellow.”

With two of the Hill House cast already signing on for Bly Manor, there’s every chance that season 2 pulls an American Horror Story and brings back the same group of actors, only telling a different story. After all, the first season’s ensemble seem more than happy to work with Mike Flanagan again and again.

Carla Gugino has already said she’d love to return to the show, Henry Thomas starred in Flanagan’s Ouija: Origin of Evil and Gerald’s Game before joining The Haunting of Hill House and the filmmaker is married to actress Kate Siegel, who played Theodora Crain in season 1.
