Mark Hamill Rumored To Be Playing The Joker In Crisis On Infinite Earths

With Kevin Conroy having joined Crisis On Infinite Earths, we're now hearing that Mark Hamill will be involved as well, and he'll be playing the Joker.

Aside from portraying Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, the Joker is probably the role that Mark Hamill’s most well known for. After voicing the villain in Batman: The Animated Series and finding much acclaim for doing so, he’s returned to the character many, many times over the years, including in the popular Arkham video games and several animated efforts from DC.

To be honest, many actually consider his version of the Clown Prince of Crime to be the definitive one, and while if you ask us we’d say Heath Ledger holds that title, we’ll be the first to admit that Hamill’s portrayal of the villain is simply fantastic and it’s always a treat to hear him bring Mr. J to life.

Speaking of which, if recent rumors are to be believed, we’ll soon not only hear him bring Joker to life, but also see him do so, too, as the actor is said to be showing up in The CW’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover extravaganza, which is shaping up to be a dream come true for DC fans.

Take this one with a grain of salt, but over on YouTube, ComicBookCast is saying they’ve heard rumors that Hamill is set to play the Joker in live-action in “Crisis,” and not only that, but it’ll be the version from Batman: The Animated Series. Unfortunately, they didn’t provide any further details, nor did they say where they got this scoop from. However, given that we know Kevin Conroy – who played Batman opposite Hamill’s Joker on many occasions – is involved in the crossover as Bruce Wayne, it’s not too crazy to think that it’ll happen.

Not to mention that the actor already has ties to the Arrowverse, having shown up on The Flash in the past. Of course, that may make it a bit tricky for him to now appear in the franchise as a totally different character, but there’s definitely a few ways they could pull this off.

Still, that being said, don’t get too excited just yet, as The CW obviously hasn’t confirmed Mark Hamill’s involvement and again, ComicBookCast doesn’t say where they heard this. If it does turn out to be true though, then, well, let’s just say that “Crisis on Infinite Earths” will be one heck of an event and something that DC fans won’t want to miss.
